'Significant' new oil spill from stranded ship: Maritime NZ


A container ship stranded on a reef off New Zealand had leaked a "significant" amount of oil and sustained damage in heavy seas overnight, the country's maritime authority said Tuesday.
Maritime New Zealand said 130-350 tonnes of oil leaked from the stricken ship Rena, significantly more than the initial spill of 20 tonnes when the vessel hit a reef last Wednesday.
